Animal Dissection in Secondary Schools
Dissection of animals in schools is an outdated and inhumane practice. This leads to the death of over six million animals in North America a year, it forces children to go through something they might not yet be ready to handle, and more advanced alternatives have been proven just as effective in educating youth.
The number of animals that die because of animal dissection every year is over 6 million in North America alone. That is higher than the number of human death caused by smoking throughout the world. Also, there have been cases where the animals to be dissected were slaughtered in morbidly inhumane ways, such as cats being drowned alive, or rats being injected with a substance that caused severe convulsions before dieing.
