Sleep Deprivation
Imagine lying in bed trying to sleep. The clock now reads 1:30am and going to sleep seems an impossibility. Tonight, 70 million people in the US will suffer from that very problem (National Sleep Foundation). Sleep deprivation has many different causes. When not receiving enough sleep regularly, there may be very harsh effects on physical and mental health and everyday performances. There are ways to prevent loss of sleep, but if not taken seriously, someone's much needed rest can catch up with them and cause serious problems.
Sleep deprivation is defined as lack of the necessary amount of sleep (Sleep). Adults need an average of eight hours of sleep each night.
