Some of the changes that were introduced by the Australian Government in the 2005-2006 Budget were Personal Tax Cuts, Encouraging people on welfare to work, boosting the national skills pool, assisting Australian Business by giving them $1.8 Billion in tax cuts over the next four years, including the removal of the 3% tariff on business inputs and provision of tax relief for black hole expenditures.
As stated in the 2005-2006 Budget, the Government will provide personal tax cuts worth $21.7 billion over 4 years, increasing incentives to work and save as well as assisting low income earners and keeping Australia internationally competitive. The Government is committed to increasing workforce participation. The welfare system will be reformed so that welfare recipients who are able to work part time will be obliged to do so. They payment structure will be changed to provide better incentives to work.
