Booker T. Washington wrote Up From Slavery titled as an autobiography, but as one takes a closer look it is quite obvious that he had deeper reasons for writing this book, other than just conveying the story of his life. As one takes a deeper look at the way in which Washington describes his life, his work, and his views they can see that he meant to extend his beliefs, promote his school, and share his views with the people of the nation. The purposes behind this book were well disguised, but noticeable if one takes the time to search them out.
