Impact of the Treaty of Versailles on Germany
It is impossible to envisage the amount of problems the Treaty of Versailles has brought to us. As soon as our leaders signed the Treaty reluctantly chaos had triggered in Germany. We had no ruler because the Kaiser had abdicated his throne and fled to Holland. Promptly after that Freidrich Ebert became the new leader of Republic of Germany. After consulting the army commander, Hindenburg about the military war situation he decided to sign the Treaty instantly so that we wouldn¡¦t suffer anymore.
As soon as the new Weimar Republic had formed, it received opposition from both, Left and Right Wings. The Right-wing blamed Ebert for accepting the Terms of the Treaty and they didn¡¦t like the democratic government that replaced the autocratic system, which was to their liking.
