Aim: To examine a red onion cells and water plant cells under a light microscope.
Required items:
A light microscope (SWIFT M3500D)
A water plant
A red onion bulb
A scalpel
A pipette
Some water
Tweezers
Some iodine solution
Coverslips
Slides
Small scissors
The procedure:
For the water leaf
To carry out the examination correctly I took a light microscope while my partner took an Elodea leaf with tweezers and put it on a slide. The leaf was in the water already, so there was no need to use a pipette and put water on top. Then it was covered with coverslip and pressed delicately so any air bubbles will leave and the leaf will be flat and the details will be seen easier inside of it.
