The Gift My Mother Gave Me
Summary: A personal essay describing the love for a mother and the things she taught her daughter.
How do we measure love? In grams? By the kisses? The gifts? Can we even measure love? I personally have not measured it, but I have felt the strength of unconditional love. And I owe it all to my mother, for showing me something so powerful. Of course, being the self-centered and stubborn teen that I was, I had never appreciated her at that time. But now, as a grown woman looking back on the chapters of my life, I realize what a fool I had been. It is so important that we rely on one thing that never fails. One thing you can count on, is a mother's love.
My mother has taught me that life is just too short to sit around and wait for miracles to happen. If you want something, just reach into your pocket of hope, and believe in yourself. Get out there...
