Criminal Psychopathy
Summary: Addresses and explores the characteristics of a criminal offender, having been "labeled" a psychopath or non-psychopath. Focuses on the article In Cold Blood: Characteristics of Criminal Homicides as a Function of Psychopathy, from the Journal of Abnormal Psychology 2002, to compare the fashion of homicides compared between a psychopath and non-psychopath.
The purpose of this paper is to address and explore the characteristics of a criminal offender, having been "labeled" a psychopath or non-psychopath. Specifically I am focusing on the article In Cold Blood: Characteristics of Criminal Homicides as a Function of Psychopathy, from the Journal of Abnormal Psychology 2002, to compare the fashion of homicides compared between a psychopath and non-psychopath. The sample in the study includes all offenders that have committed at least one crime of homicide. When referring to the fashion of a homicide I am addressing the nature in which it was performed. For example, a well planned out and unemotional homicide would be instrumental, compared to a spontaneous, highly emotional homicide that would be more reactive.
