Dystopia: a Comparison of Gattaca and 1984

"Gattaca" and "1984" are the two movies from this course, which are very comparable. The Hollywood inspired "Gattaca" is a futuristic foreshadow of dystopia concerning genetic discrimination in the early 21st Century. George Orwell's classic novel "1984" is an even darker dystopia dealing with cruel politics and oppression of humanity. Although these two specific films contrast very diversely, they can also be applied with many similar themes. This essay, will discuss some of the political, and sociological conditions that people faced in these two prophetic tales. This essay will also show how these fiction like societies can play a very important role in our systematic lives.
