Man and Daughter in the Cold

Summary: The short novel,"Man and Daughter in the Cold," by John Uplike. It describes various nuances and differences of the characters and how such nuances are generally they are revealed in most literature.
Conflicts arise throughout most any stories; this shows the different sides of the characters involved. In this short story, "Man and Daughter in the Cold," by John Uplike, posses many conflicts as a man, Ethan, who takes his daughter, Becky, up skiing one day, where Ethan recognizes his daughter's solid skiing. One conflict in the beginning of this short story is the time, Ethan suggests to the top for a run, but Matt, Becky's teacher didn't want to go. Also another conflict arises when they the father and daughter are when skiing down Ethan had an asthmatic attack. Finally the last conflict was later on that night at home with when Becky, who had gotten frostbite, independently came outside to help her father to shovel out the Jeep, while Ethan had a slight asthma attack again.
