Problem Definition and Theoretical Approach Devin is a twelve year old student who is underachieving in the Catholic school system.. He has three other siblings and his parents divorced eight years ago. He lives with his mother and sisters and brothers, as well as the mother's boyfriend. The relationship between Devin's mother and father is cordial. Devin's strengths are in drawing, physical education and drama. He participates actively in oral discussions, but can be silly at times.
Devin is oppositional at home and is not motivated at school. Devin's former teachers have reported the similar behaviour on previous report cards. At school Devin is usually quiet during instructional time, but exhibits disruptive behaviour during seatwork.or independent activities.
