The characters Mr. Brown and Mr. Smith, in the novel Things Fall Apart by Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe, are Christian missionaries sent to the Ibo clans in Nigeria to collect converts and westernize their culture. These two missionaries go throughout the story pursuing their goals in a different manner.
