A) Statistical evidence has shown that there are huge gender differences in health behaviour. It has been know that men have a lower life expectancy than women. This has been proven statistically by the department of health in 2001, stating men live on average of 75.1 years compared to the 80.0 years that on average women live for. The department of health stated in 1998 that men are more likely to die from cancer, heart disease, HIV, accidents and suicide than women. However breast cancer is a leading death around the world. In the USA 1 in 8 women are likely to develop breast cancer.
Steptoe stated in 1994 when he conducted his research on who practices healthful behaviour? That woman performs more helpful behaviours then men. This has been supported by the evidence found by the department of health in 2001 stating that men are more likely to engage in risk taking behaviours than women...
