Things Not Seen by Andrew Clements is about a fifteen-year-old boy named Bobby Phillips and how he woke up invisible one morning. Bobby lives in Chicago, Illinois with his two parents. One morning after sleeping with his electric blanket he usually uses, he became invisible. You could feel him, touch him. But not see him. He had to do something, so he told his parents about it that morning.

Bobby's dad is a scientist, so he wanted to do all kinds of tests on him. One day Bobby decided to go to the library. He had to go naked, since people with clothes on and no face look funny. On his way out he bumped into a blind girl named Alicia Van Dorn. They meet again and become friends so Bobby decides to tell her about his invisibleness after she feels him without a shirt on.
