Creating a new society...something that is impossible to ever perfect, especially when the task is up to a group of grade school kids. When a plane carrying a group of children went down over the ocean it left them stranded on an island where they were forced to fend for themselves. They needed to start a brand new society, and it went through many different stages and mindsets. The novel emulates what our world is like in the present, and what struggles they went through, are the same struggles that today's world faces. The kids on the island faced obeying the laws, and the obvious corruption of power. This great piece of literature written by William Golding, explores the depths of humanity, while keeping the plot simple and easy to understand.
