Summary: Examines the effects of television violence on children. Provides statistics on the amount of television children watch daily and the number of violent acts they witness. Examines if the amount of television violence viewed contributes to violent behavior.
Children between the age of 2 and 17 usually watch about 2 and half hours of television everyday. By the time they are 18 they will have watched more than 15000 hours of television, this is more than 4000 hours that they would have been in school there whole life. According to the American psychological association (apa) before kids finish elementary school they will have watched 8000 murders and 100000 acts of violence on television. People are beginning to become concern on what type of an effect this causes on children's aggression behavior.

There are many theories on how violence on TV might make a child act. Children often learn how to act by modeling the behavior of the people around them or in this case the people in the television show. Most of the characters on TV also get rewarded for their violent behavior. Which means that children are very likely to try and imitate...
