Cyrano De Bergerac , An Analysis of Major Characters

We tend to think of people who do good deeds to end up with a good outcome, and the people who do bad things deserve to be punished. However, it does not always end up being that way. Sometimes, fate can be unfair, and the greatest person can end up having the worst things, while the evilest person can end up receiving the best things. In Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand, Cyrano is a great man, who is noble and brave, but ends up being very poor and dies by a log that falls on his head. De Guiche is a vain, evil coward who becomes a Duke and lives in prosperity. Roxane is a clever, courageous intellectual who ends up living in convent and loses both her loves, Christian and Cyrano. Out of all three characters, Cyrano least deserves the outcome he receives compare to Roxane...
