Summary: Analyzes the play "Stolen" by Jane Harrison, a play based on the stolen Aboriginal generation in Australia. Discusses the character of Ruby and contends that she is the one who suffers most in the play.
Every character in the play Stolen, suffered in one way or another, whether it was physically, mentally or sexually. Some characters suffered more than others, but the characters that never lost hope were the ones that survived. Those who lost hope were the ones that suffered the most. Ruby and Jimmy lost hope and in turn suffered significantly. There are many people that would argue that Jimmy is the character that suffered the most, but in my view, I believe it was Ruby.

As a young girl, Shirley cannot forget the gloomy day that brought pain and anguish when she was stolen. Having this experience, she knew the way her children were feeling when they were stolen from her with no explanation.
