Mike Parr, An Australian Artist

Mike Parr was born in 1945 on a small farm in the hinterland region near the south-east Queensland coast. While growing up on the farm, Parr was encouraged by his father to participate in literacy such as reading, thinking, writing and voicing out ideas and opinions, in which his father is all adorned to. As Parr become accustomed to this, he began compiling diaries. In these diaries, Parr developed his ability in composing his own bush ballads, in which these were usually filled with lots of drawings. This could be the very first step made by Parr in gaining his artistic abilities.
