Holden and Maslow Pyramid

One of the most famous fictional characters is Holden Caulfield. He is the main character in The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger. The novel is about his journey after he got kicked out of school. His journey is long, strenuous, and is full of emotion. However, is mind set is not in one place. His emotions go up and down throughout the novel. He goes through the different needs that are listed in Maslow's pyramid. These needs include physiological needs, safety needs, social needs, and esteem needs. At some point in the novel, Holden goes through each of those needs mentioned in the Maslow Pyramid.
