I still remember the day my mom took me to a Komet game back in 1993 when I was only 8 years old. It was game four of the Turner Cup Finals vs. the San Diego Gawls. The Komets were up three to none in the series and were one game away from winning their fourth Turner Cup in franchise history. They ended up winning the game and I have been a Komet hockey fan ever since.
I grew up in a hockey family. Eddie Long, my dad's cousin, is referred to by most as the best Komet player of all time. He is at the top of the list of every major record in Komet history and was nickname "Mr. Komet." He was also the first Komet player to have his jersey retire.
