The Elements of Success
Summary: An evaluation of what defines success. Reviews modern concepts of success and questions higher meanings of the word.
Success has always been said to be a mountain of stepping-stones; a trail impeded by rugged ranges, deadly struggles and emotional despair. This definition still remains today but the heights of these "mountain peaks" have somewhat decreased.
"I want to be successful." These words have been repeated so many times and by so many people that they have gradually merged to the ranks of "I love you." and "I have a dream." that is, they have become yet another cliché in the English language, used until they have worn off all their original meaning.
But what is the meaning of success? In a tight dictionary definition, it simply means, "to achieve one's purpose or goal." But nobody had ever lived by denoted meanings.
