The Effect of the War in Iraq on Americans and Iraqies

In the election year of 2004, one of the key topics of debate has been the Iraq War of 2003. Iraq in the last twenty years has been a concern of the United States in an extremely volatile part of the world known as the Middle East. Up until 2003, this country has been ruled be a ruthless dictator known as Saddam Hussein. He had committed many atrocities to his own people, including using chemical weapons on the Kurds, firing scud missiles into Israel, and invading neighboring country of Kuwait. This prompted the Persian Gulf War of 2001 and the freeing of Kuwait from Saddam Hussein's control. This however did not topple his regime. He continued in defiance of the United Nations not to turnover his weapons of mass destruction and allows inspectors to monitor his military activities.
