Plot Summary -

When Denise and her 4 year old child, Kyle, wreck it places them into a world they never knew. During the rescue of Kyle they meet a firefighter names Taylor. Taylor radically changes their world; he is patient with Kyle's speech problem and quickly falls in love with Denise. There are two major conflicts in this story, Denise being able to deal with Kyle's problem and function in the world, and Taylor forgetting his past to live in the present. In the end when both problems are confronted Taylor and Denise allow themselves to fall in love.

Literary Devices -

The main literary device used in The Rescue is foreshadowing. Through out the piece when Taylor is fighting fires he has flash backs, at the end of the novel Taylor has to let go of his past tragic experience in a fire to be able to...
