Summary: Examination of The Tear, a poem by Lord Byron, a portion of which is written on Byron's Epitaph. Discusses the connotation of tears in each stanza.
This poem tells us different situations where the poet considers people cry, he describes different stages.

In the first stanza, it talks about a friendship or love that suddenly appears and makes you smile and you cry of happiness, we can described this feeling as a feeling of affection.

In the second stanza, it describes a situation when you are happy suddenly something horrible happens and it makes you sad, this feeling brings a tear to your eye and makes you cry.

In the third stanza, in this description it mentions that we can not fight against barbarity, this feeling is called compassion, it comes out of distress and pity for the suffering of another, the tear comes from the eye.
