Summary: Part of the Great Lives series, this is author Nikki Grimes' biograpy of African American Civil Rights leader Malcolm X. Details his childhood as well as key events which shaped his life.
Malcolm Little was born on May 19, 1925 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born to the Reverend Earl Little and Lovre Norton. While Mrs., Norton was pregnant with Malcolm members of the Klu Klux Klan also know as the KKK, knocked holes through the Little's House. They were looking for Malcolm's father Earl. When Earl got home, he was outraged at what had happened. So he decided when Malcolm was born he was going to move his family to Lansing, Michigan. When Malcolm was two months old, the family packed up and got ready to move. While in Lansing, Michigan the family experienced many more racial difficulties. Therefore, in 1926 the little's packed and headed for Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Malcolm's younger brother Reginald was born. While in Milwaukee the Rev.
