Antz - Themes and Values
Summary: ANTZ is a feature length animation which provides impressive communications between human and animal life forms. Directed by Eric Darnell and Tim Johnson, this movie interprets the life of a mindless worker ant whose thoughts focus on being an individual.
Cleverly thought by DreamWorks, ANTZ is full of computer animations with a list of well-known characters. Woody Allen plays the voice of a clumsy and tedious worker ant called `Z', Sharon Stone beautifully communicates the values of Princess Bala. Weaver, Z's best friend is voiced by Sylvester Stallone and General Mandible (the mean evil dude) is represented by Gene Hackman.
The movie ANTZ challenges the ideas of respecting conformity and authority. Z and Princess Bala bring back courage for the ant colony to think for themselves. Many bits in the movie are made to let the viewer realize that even if the ants come last in the economical community, they still have a world, their own world.
