The 1920's was names the Decade of Extremes, meaning that social groups throughout the USA benefited varyingly; the minority of groups which did roar, roared to a very large extent, but the many who didn't roar suffered enormously; hence, the to a small extent the 1920's roared for all sections of American society. To roar is defined as to benefit socially or economically.
The single group who arguably roared the most during the 1920's was WASPs. Young, liberated, women WASPs who made up the majority of the flapper social group experienced much roaring during the 1920's. After the suffragette movement ensured women the vote, flappers experienced change in fashion. Flappers wore shorter skirts, sleeveless tops, trousers and generally less modest clothing.
