Summary: A discussion of the book "Stepping on Cracks" by Mary Downing Hahn. The book is about a thirteen-year-old boy named Gordy Smith and how the death of his grandmother changes his life completely as he now must start new in a different city.
Stu told Gordy that he would have to start going to school. Gordy wasn't too happy about that. He would have to see his old friends, Toad and Doug, and two annoying girls he grew up with. Their names were Lizard and Magpie - so Gordy called them. Stu was telling them how much they had all changed since Gordy had been there and that Gordy should have fun at school and be glad to see his old friends again. Gordy didn't think so, but his feelings changed when he did see them. He couldn't believe how much they had changed compared to him.
