Problems Faced by Students from Overseas

Summary: A brief summary of problems faced by overseas students and methods to cope with the situation.
Going for university studies overseas requires a deep sense of responsibility, strength, dedication, and willingness. Students prefer overseas studies as they find better prospects and education systems.

Taking the example of India, a developing country, one does not find better career options and better prospects in his/her particular field. Migration to another country involves a significant change in surroundings, culture, style of living. Many overseas students as a consequence face problems such as homesickness, missing friends and having to make new friends, making decisions on their own, food problems, weather conditions and language problem.

To some extent I disagree with this opinion, as it helps one in coming out of the shell to be accepting of different cultures and interact with people of different backgrounds. Studies overseas are very different from what one is taught in their country. It helps in developing the personality and oratory skills and exposes one to the culture he or she has never adapted to, but with will, strength and ability one can slowly adapt to the change. In the long run it proves to be more of an advantagte than disadvantage.
