Violence is a prominent subject in numerous present-day societies. Yet, how did the world transform from people who warmly welcomed new neighbours with presents and baked goods, to ones whose first thought would be to question whether those people owned firearms? The answer lies with the parties responsible for this change. Although those parties can encompass countless groups and individuals, it is obvious that some are exempt from that label. Although governments are appointed to run and control activities within their countries, they cannot be held responsible for violence in their societies. This liability can be attributed to the fact that weapons are far too abundant, it is human instinct to be wary and suspicious, and that the media has a considerable impact on the continuation of violence.
