When J. Robert Oppenheimer and his team created the atomic bomb in Nevada, he began a new era in history, that many have dubbed the "atomic age." After seeing it's awe-inspiring power, Oppenheimer realised what a horribly destructive creation he had unleashed upon the world. He quoted the Hindu god Vishnu by saying, " I have become death, destroyer of worlds." He was right. Since its first test in Trinity, Nevada in 1945, the globe has lived in fear under the shadow of thousands of these bombs, which could easily wipe out all life on earth. It seems absurd that almost a dozen countries in the world have the power to completely eradicate all of mankind with a turn of a key or a push of a button. Such destructive powers should not be in the hands of anyone, and the nuclear nations should and must rid themselves of these...
