Poetry Explication of "The Fleece"
Summary: Essay consists of an analysis of the poem "The Fleece."
In Greek and Roman mythology there are many events that are told time and time again and are passed down from generation to generation by great works of literature, favorably, poems. One particular poem, The Fleece by John Dyer, holds tribute to the venerated myth about Jason and the famed Argonauts aboard Argo. In this epic work, Dyer narrates the Argo and her crew on board. The poem is in the time period where gods, monsters, and immortals roamed the earth, also known as the birth of man.
The poem starts out in the first line by describing the invitation by Jason to seek the strongest and bravest youth of Greece to form his team, the Argonauts.
