Like Mother Like Daughter
Summary: This essay is an analysis of how the life of Catherine Linton is a continuation of the life of her mother, Catherine Earnshaw.
The old adage states, "Like father, like son." In the case of Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, however, this adage should say, "Like mother, like daughter." The daughter, Catherine Linton, is a continuation of the life of the mother Catherine Earnshaw Linton. This is evidenced through many aspects of both of their lives. First, they are very similar if not the same in their looks and personality. Second, they are similar in their relationship to Nelly, and finally, in their relationship to men. The fact that the mother Catherine and the daughter Catherine did not live at all during the same time make how similar they are in these three parts of their lives remarkable.
