Medical Marijuana
Summary: Short essay on why marijuana should not be legalized for medical purposes.
At the present time, marijuana is illegal in the State of Connecticut. It is, however, legal in California and Arizona for medical purposes. I don't think the use of marijuana for medical purposes should be allowed in Connecticut. Marijuana carries a chemical called THC. Studies have shown that THC is very inconsistent in every dose of marijuana therefore hazardous for doctors to use. Glaucoma is not cured or suppressed by marijuana use and the NIH (National Institute of Health) says too little research is done on marijuana for it to be safely used.
THC is a chemical found in marijuana. Every marijuana dose contains a different amount of THC. With this inconsistency, doctors will not have control of how much the patient gets and what amount of marijuana they should give for there to be a good, consistent ration over a period of time.
