Summary: It is an essay describing the effects of Western Imperialism in the 1800's.
"Religion supply's the pretext, gold the motive." Western European Imperialists after 1850 colonized many lands in the Eastern world such as Africa and Asia as they said to bring civilization to their "little brown brothers" but also went for benefits such as a source of cheap labor, power prestige, raw materials, and a market for finished products for the mother country which leaves Western economic superiority then and now over the colonized 3rd world countries and 1st world countries as its most impacting legacy.

The motivation behind the second round of imperialism was a source of power prestige, raw materials, cheap labor, and a market for finished goods. Cheap labor is possible because the people of the conquered lands will work for virtually any amount of money because they need every penny they can get.
