Sleepwalking in Macbeth
Summary: Essay discusses Macbeth's insomnia.
Macbeth had many exciting events that occurred throughout the play. Some moments were tragic, others were heroic. Macbeth often suffered from insomnia, which could cause him to sleep walk and let out his deepest secrets.
If Macbeth were to sleep walk, he would have a lot to let out. First of all, I think Macbeth would have flashbacks from the Norwegian War and his victory there. He would probably be throwing fists in the air in his sleep trying to reenact the battle. Along with Lady Macbeth, I believe that Macbeth would talk about the blood stains on his hands because that tormented him. He'd try to clean his hands and his conscious. Duncan's murder was hard for him to do, and it truly tore him apart. Another bad memory was the murder of his best friend, Banquo, and the visions of the ghost.
