In the United States government by the written constitution, there are three separate but distinct branches. The executive branch deals with the President, and the power behind the oval office. He can bring up bills to pass, suggest amendments and new laws. He is the commander in chief of the US army and the only one that can appoint certain people into offices such as the attorney general, the Sec. of defense, and the Supreme Court Justice. The Vise President takes over the office and the power if the president dies. Finally the President has the power to veto any bill that congress tries to pass. The cabinet also makes up the executive branch of our government.
