Style Analysis of "Anthem"
Summary: Essay performs a style analysis on "Anthem" by Ayn Rand.
Anthem, by Ayn Rand is set in the future but in the past at the same time. People live as though it is the 1800's. Society doesn't have electricity or cars and they cant think on their own. One is born into the world, and then sheltered and nourished. Equality 7-2521 is the main character and the author shows the reader the way he lived. He goes to school but feels different from everyone else because he is smarter than they are. The time he lives is a time where one does not think above anyone else. After his schooling he is sent to the World Council. The Council decides what the jobs are of each man and woman. Equality gets chosen as a street sweeper. So he has to get up every morning to the sound of a bell and he has to do this for forty...
