Since the tragedy of September 11, 2001, there have been many changes in the United States. More specifically, changes in security in major companies and government involvement with these issues. One of the most obvious industries that have been affected by 9/11 is the airline industry. The reasons for this go without saying.

In early 2001, a typical trip to the airport looked something like this: arrive a half-hour early, check your bags and proceed to security where you would clear your pockets and place coats or bags on the conveyer belt, and finally continue on to your gate. Since then, you can expect to arrive two hours early with your ID in hand because you will have to show it at both bag check and security.
