Nevada is bordered by the states of California, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona. Nevada covers an area of 110,540 square miles. This area is divided into 17 different counties.

Nevada is famous for legalized gambling and it is also known for having the highest population growth in the United States. Nevada is home to two mountain ranges, the Sierra Nevada range and the Rocky Mountains. Nevada is also home to two deserts, the Sonoran and the Mojave deserts. Nevada gets about four inches of rain per year. The average daily winter temperature is about 60 degrees while the average temperatures during July and August is 105 degrees.
