The largest, bloodiest war in the history of the world was the Second World War, which began in 1939, and finally ended in 1945 (Heather). During those six years of warfare, there were an approximate 3,271,500 number of deaths, both civilian and military (Gregorovich). In addition, this war was not called a "world war" for nothing as there were at least fifty-nine countries involved throughout the world, including the major global powers like the United States, England, France, Germany, Russia, China, and Japan.
