Summary: Throughout history all the great leader have possessed certain traits that have enable them to be successful. Strength, intelligence, cunning and determination are just a few a good leader might have.
But in ancient Greece a good leader would have to had all these traits to be successful because of the difficult lifestyle and hardship faced in those days. In The Odyssey, an epic by Homer, two characters, Odysseus and Telemakhos, are both eligible for ruler ship of their homeland Ithaca, but only one can be its ideal ruler. Odysseus, the present king of Ithaca, is experienced and strong but lacks the ability to control his sense of hubris of false pride. Telemakhos, the son of Odysseus, is considerate and attentive, but lacks experience needed to be king,. Out of two possibilities, Odysseus is the ideal Greek lead of the land of Ithaca.
