Comparing "Story on an Hour" and "The Yellow Wallpaper"

"The Story of an Hour" written by Kate Chopin and "The Yellow Wallpaper" written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman are two short stories that take place in the midst of the 19th century. It circles around two married women suffering from different marital problems. More specifically "The Yellow Wallpaper" is about a woman's decent into insanity; while in "The Story of an Hour" it is about woman's path from grievance to joy when she learned of an incorrect assumption of her husband's death, and in an odd twist of fate would die from his appearance back into her life.
Although both women would face different outcomes, their sad fates could all be traced back to their husband's ignorance and their controlling personalities. In "The Story of an Hour", and "The Yellow Wallpaper" their husbands faults are not clear to the women but they do have sense of doubt that...
