I have recently read a fantastic book called `Antar and the Eagles' by Stephan Baxter. This book is mainly about a young boy called Antar, who, on his fifth birthday, is taken to the mountains by a magnificent golden mountain eagle. However, it is not as food that he is taken but for a mission on the survival of the whole eagle race. Antar is brought up in a nest with four other baby eagles. He eventually works out how eagles communicate, and learns how to communicate with other eagles. Antar makes some of his wings, by sewing feathers from eagles into cut strips of his leather jacket. Before long, Antar has learned how to fly! However, he soon realises that he has to go to a deadly mission.
