Different Aspects of Love in "Romeo & Juliet"
Summary: Essay explores different aspects of love in "Romeo and Juliet."
A number of different types of love are expressed and explored in Shakespeare's `Romeo and Juliet', ranging from fickle play to true, beautiful love. In the play we see motherly love, between the nurse and Juliet, love between Romeo and Rosaline, infatuation, love between Romeo, Juliet and the Friar, almost like a fatherly or holy love and, finally, love between Romeo and Juliet, true love.
From almost the very beginning of the play we realise the weakness of Juliet and her mother's love. This is especially apparent in the recently made movie of `Romeo and Juliet', when the mother, Lady Capulet, does not feel comfortable at being alone with her daughter and calls upon the nurse. Lady Capulet, though, seems to care only a little more about Juliet than her father, we see this in her attempt to make Capulet speak more gently to Juliet.
