As a coach, safety, nutritional and psychological considerations are very important factors when optimising my athlete's performance. Without the correct preparation and procedures, an athlete's progress could be severely hampered.
Physical preparation is a key factor in maintaining the athlete's performance and safety. Physical preparation is a conditioning of the body to help adapt to some of the pressures that an athlete may not be used to handling. This also minimises the chance of injury. Each factor should be considered carefully.
Skill and technique is an important component of physical preparation of my athlete. This enables the athlete to perform difficult movements and actions with greater ease. If movements are performed incorrectly, the athlete heightens their chance of injury.
