The Black Plague
Summary: A summary and analysis of the Black Plague and its affects on the Social and Political environments of affected areas.
The Bubonic Plague was one of the most destructive events in the entire history of the world. The total death toll came to anywhere from 25 to 50 percent before the disease ran its course. The plague had many other affects on each place it touched, however. Since the plague resulted in large percentages of fatalities, the political structure, economy, religion, and general lifestyle of the populations that became victim to the horrors of the plague all saw many changes. Too see examples of these effects, one only need to look the changes that China and Europe went through during the times of the plague.
Though the Black Plague was believed to have first erupted in the Gupta desert, it was bound to come through China due to China's increased involvement in international trade. Thought the plague might have had a slightly smaller percentage of deaths in China, the effects...
