"The Killing Fields" Summary and Historical Anaysis

Summary: A summary of the movie "The Killing Fields" as well as an analysis of the movie from the view of historical context and historical accuracy.
Summary- The Killing Fields begins in Cambodia during the time of conflict between the government and the Kemar Rouge. At this time, a reporter named Sydney Schulenburg is tracking the conflicts between the Cambodian government and the Kemar Rouge. A Cambodian native named Dith Pran helps Sydney in his reporting job. Dith becomes both Sydney's friend and helper as he works with the reporter to get exclusive news for the New York Times. Among the many things that Dith and Sydney do to get the newest story is when they hire a small boat to ferry them to a town that had be accidentally bombed by military aircrafts. The friendship between the two takes on an entirely different meaning when the Kamer Rouge finally takes over Cambodia. Though it first seems that the victory for the Kemar Rouge might be a positive event in Cambodian history, events soon...
