Golda Mabovitz was born in Kiev, Russia on May 3, one thousand eight hundred ninety eight. Her father was an impoverished carpenter who wanted to give his family a better life. Golda's father went to America in one thousand nine hundred three. And then brought the rest of the family three years later.

Golda was eight years old her family and her immigrated to the United States of America. They moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the year one thousand nine hundred and six. The move was a very difficult transition. The Mabovitz's were forced to move to the United States because of economic hardships.
